Gadzooks, It’s a Giveaway!

December 13, 2010 by Michele

THIS GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!

Well, the people have spoken! Okay… ONE lovely person who’s blog starts with a Dresden and ends with a Quilter spoke, and since I do take your suggestions extremely seriously, a giveaway is getting given here today!

WHY A GIVEAWAY?
  • First, it’s a Follower milestone here at Michele Made Me! My heartfelt gratitude to you who comes by, reads my thoughts, peeks in at my work, leaves a kind word, and returns regularly to keep me company. I wish I could explain what that means to me… Thank you. ♥
  • Second, it’s Sew Mama Sew‘s Giveaway Day in which I am a downright jubilant first-timer!
  • And third, ’tis the season to be giving, fa la la la la la la la la!
WHAT’S BEING GIVEN?
  • A small recycled ice-cream-bucket-turned-felt-and-embroidered-button-box designed and made by me.
  • Some Michele Made Me handmade covered buttons. (Find out how to make your own by clicking the link.)
  • Some Michele Made Me handmade wooden buttons. (Find out how to make your own by, well, you know…)
  • 2 spools of pearl cotton twine
  • 1 vintage lace collar and 2 pieces of lace
  • Some yarny crocheted bobbles
WHAT ARE THE GIVEAWAY RULES?
  • Please leave a comment that consists of YOUR FAVOURITE SAYING. In other words, what is the most common group of words that spills out of your mouth many times a day each and every day? For example: “Goodness gracious!” or “Holy mackerel.” or “Ya know what I mean, jelly bean?” Whatever it is, that’s the comment I want. Let ‘er rip.
  • Make sure I can reach you by email.
  • Anyone, anywhere can enter.
  • Giveaway ends Friday, Dec 17th at 12 pm noon EST. The winner will be chosen by random number generator. I will announce and contact the winner shortly thereafter.
Now, let those precious little words fly…

    OPPERDEPOP!
(it's dutch, it means something like 'it's all finished'. I find myself saying this to my 15-month-old every time he finishes eating or drinking something… so that's at least 10 times a day!)

BTW, I lovelovelove your felt ice cream bucket thingy!

    Dear Michele,
what a lovely giveaway, I adore the bucket. Lately what I say more often is: Don't touch please. MY son is in that age where anything wrong is right for him.

    Thanks a lot,

Mh… it's difficult… If the most often used would count it also belongs to my cats and it is the single word: No! And my cats are trained, they know what they are allowed and what not ^^ Nevertheless they try to make a lot of mischief and if I say they word, they will immediatly start cleaning themself (if that was all the indented to do) and look at me with such innocence.

But in normal conversations (such you have with other people or yourself ;))… it is with variations: "That's the question…"

Just stumbled across your blog today, and I LOVE it. 'LOVE' is a word I use a lot, I've got 2 kids at home and a great hubby. 'SWEETHEART' is said to my daughter a lot. 'BUDDY' is what I call my son, and 'BABE' is what I call the hubby. I use those 4 words quite a lot in a day. The most used phrase has got to be "Ain't that the way" it's from a song by Devon Sproule and I use it to refer to everything ironic…funny because I never use the word 'ain't' otherwise 🙂

It's a bit simple really, but I say to my daughter (who's almost 4) 'What's up Floss?' – her name is not Floss or anything like that so I'm not sure why I say it, I used to call all the girls in my classroom when teaching Floss too. Odd some of the things people get into a habit of saying! Thanks for the chance to enter 🙂

I love the little button box! Almost makes me wish I ate ice cream, lol.

My most common saying is "really, badger Eduard". It is a quote from a book and refers to a bear who was so forgetful that he forgot that he was a bear and thought he was a badger. Any time something silly happens, this is the first thing out of my mouth.
