I did a little happy dance this morning. A scrappy happy dance if you will. I’ve completed the 238 squares that will make up the scrappy quilt that you’ve glimpsed here.
And then I ran outside to the field behind our house and took photos of the squares on the fence back there. Yes, of course I was fully dressed. Eesh. I even had my shoes on. I’m thinking these would make an awesome bunting. The quilt squares, not my shoes. And let me tell you, 238 squares would cover a lot of “bunting” ground. Yes indeed.
Don’t worry. I’m not going to make a bunting out of my quilt squares. It was just a thought. I get those sometimes.
Next, the joinery. What is known in quilting circles as “piecing the top” (I think). Joys!
You have a good day, and I’ll see you Friday! ♥M

oh wow, that is a lot of squares lady! i just did a quilting post today, i love them so 🙂
Please don't tell me that you hung them all up! That would have taken forever! They do look super cool though. I can't wait to see the top!
How cool they look up there on the fence! Can't wait to see them dancing all together in one quilt!

What a joyful fence! I kind of want them up there permanently…but a quilt is nice, too. Get piecing, Michele!
Cool, Michele! I'd never really quilted until this year and really enjoyed it (though I only got through the squares part – never pieced them). Keep up the good work!
Such a fun way to document your work. Can't wait to see the final quilt all together.
Although the fence is beautiful I also would prefer a quilt… because you can cuddle with your dear ones in all this colourful beauty!
But… did you really hung up ALL the pieces…? Wow…! That must have taken some time! But nothing beats sunlight 🙂
You always take the most amazing pictures!! I would never have thought of doing that!!! Love them!!!!!
Go Michele! You quilt too, what else you don do? Love scrap quilts. The only I know how to make too. Love you pics by the way – Hugs Nat
Congratulations!! what perseverence! I am so excited to see your finished quilt and that is the prettiest chain link fence ever!
Yes congrats to you Michelle! Love the the fence photos!
This looks so cool Michele! Any ideas yet on the joinery?
