Leftovers

October 17, 2011 by Michele

little denim pincushions

As a rule, I always have leftovers.
As a rule, I like to eat ’em up the very next day.
With these leftovers (from here), I made something small and pretty… and inedible.
And then I sent the inedible somethings far away over land and sea to some very special people where I just know they will be loved.
What do you like to do with your leftovers?

    They are all adorable!!

I like to put my fabric leftovers in a box so it will be filled with scrappy goodness and once and awhile I make something small and fun.

Oh goodness, Michele, so rustic, elegant, sweet & tailored! How did you fit all those adjectives into a little pincushion? Love them!

They are so sweet! Did you use that fabric stiffener stuff on the sun/flower petals? I keep forgetting that I want to try that.

    They're all so pretty.

I store my leftovers for later use. Every so often I'll need a tiny piece of thread, felt, etc. and there it is to help me finish my project.

But how do you do it? timewise? you are truly fantastic, I'm having trouble keeping up!!! And would love to do sooo much more… I still have an unfinished denim flower to attach to something?? a plaited necklace I think, soon… I hope. love it alll, cheers from downunder…

Thanks tamsininamania for your kind words. How do I do it timewise? That's such a good question. To be honest, it takes a lot of time. I'm still figuring out the whole time-management thing but for the most part I've always got several projects on the go at once, so I can usually find something to blog about. Sometimes I look at my house and think: "Gee, maybe I should clean something." So you see, while I may appear organized on the blog, the reality is a little different than that. πŸ™‚

As for my leftovers (the inedible ones)I collect them in hope of making a big scrappy quilt some time (and in the meantime use them for small projects such as makeup pouches)
