One For The Boy

January 12, 2013 by Michele

When he saw the crocheted Christmas blanket I made for my two sweet girls (who share digs far away in the big city), The Boy asked for a similar one of his very own. Since then, I’ve been slowly obliging him. The work is keeping me busy – and warm – during these long, cold winter evenings.

Hi and Happy new year to you and your family!!! I've been a very negligent blog reader of late but am slowly trying to catch up with friends. I LOVE that the Boy asked you to make him a blanket, too. I would be thrilled if my son asked me to make him something, but at 16, I fear time is running out.

    It looks lovely!

I love how your little guy appreciates all things handmade (and is of course very creative himself). It makes me excited to think (hope) that my son will grow up like that too.

Neato! I love how all the colors in that photograph relate to each other. And I wanted to know if you made the snowball quilt on the back of the couch.

Indeed. The quilt on the couch is one of my earlier attempts. All scrappy! But I really love it still. ๐Ÿ™‚

Would this be something for a Newbie to crochet? I love the idea of using up scraps! What's the pattern, please? It turned out beautiful!

      Hi Cathy,

This is definitely a newbie-friendly project. All it is, is double crochet over and over again. If you can learn double crochet, then you can make a similar blanket. Best of luck to you!

      Take care,

      Michele
