What is Beautiful…

June 8, 2013 by Michele

I was thinking today that, sometimes when my spirits are low, all it takes to lift them again is to ask myself one little question: “What is beautiful about this moment?” And, you know what? The universe always has an answer for me. In fact, the universe usually has several.

Two of today’s beautiful answers pictured above.

Ah, Michele, those are 2 beautiful things! I'm so glad they help you feel better. That is a good idea. When I'm down, I think about all the things I'm thankful for. There are so many of them, I cannot help but open my heart and feel better.

I love the way you have sewn your blocks. So many of the ones I see lately are kind of in a log cabin style where they spiral around each other. But I like your method better. It's so colorful and more of the freeform style I love. I don't like "crazy" top look so uniform! Love yours!

Are there instructions for this scrappy block? They are awesome!

Sorry Sonia, no. I just sorta start sewing my scraps together, making small patches, and then I sew those patches together into bigger and bigger patches. It's a pretty organic process. Oh and I usually give myself a colour scheme to begin with too. For example, I usually pick a few colours and stick to those as much as possible as I sew my scraps together. Hope that helps!

Beautiful colors! I love how you put things in perspective with that question.

Aw thanks Luci. There is so much beauty around us. Sometimes my eyes are just closed to it, I think. Time to open my eyes, eh?
