The following tools and materials will be needed to complete the project:

  • Box to be covered (I used a cracker box and a tissue box)
  • Boxes to be cut into strips for covering (I used a cereal box and a cracker box)
  • craft or utility knife
  • ruler
  • good quality glue
  • a pair of scissors
  • pencil & eraser
  • cutting surface
  • clothespins for clamping
  • fine-grained sandpaper
  • optional: water-based wood stain, paintbrush, small plastic container, and newspaper to protect work surface

Skills required to make Box-Covered Boxes include measuring and marking with ruler and pencil, sanding with sandpaper, cutting with a craft knife and pair of scissors, clamping pieces together, basic staining and/or painting, and shaping with your hands.
