Note to a Tote

July 15, 2011 by Michele

My dearest tote bag:

Did I ever tell you? You are the sweetest tote of all. Your ample pocket, luscious straps, and single vertical stripe make me weak in the knees. When I cobbled you together those many years ago, I had no idea what effect you would still have on me.

Have I become rough with you of late? I do throw you around thoughtlessly at times I know. And yes, I load you down with far too many responsibilities. For that I am very sorry my sweet one. But let me gently ask you this. Isn’t that your job?
The rumours circulating about me are true, sadly. Other bags have held my junk in moments of weakness. But they’ve been put in their place again, I promise. I simply could not carry on without you, my dear. No matter how many totes come and go, you’ll always be the old bag for me.

Love always,

Michele

And a note to you dear reader for being there yesterday. Thank you for taking the time to care for a wounded internet friend. I won’t soon forget your compassion, encouragement and sweet words of wisdom. You rock. Hugs and kisses to you. ♥
Just found out I’m featured on Craft Zine today. Oh how I love happy endings! Thank you sweet Sister Diane!

Have just caught up with your post of yesterday…..been there and yes it makes you think just who would bother to waste their time saying nasty things. I'm a great believer in that this is your space and for those that don't like it they really don't have to read it do they?
I love your blog. You make me smile…..and isn't that what life is all about? 🙂
    Hugs,
    A x

Such a sweet love note to such a sweet tote.

I am so sorry that someone has so much time on their hands to spew negativity. You are a very special person to handle it with such grace. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

This made me smile. Isn't it funny when an inanimate object can give so much joy (and almost take on human characteristics?). I am a relatively new blog follower and am enjoying every post … pooh to those who don't. They can very easily unsubscribe … and silently move on. 🙂

Cool tote! One of the things I like about your blog is the generous spirit you show as you share ideas that may inspire us. I have thought about your yesterday's post and am still surprised that anyone would take the time or effort to respond with such negative emotion. I don't get why that person wouldn't just click away from the site and not return if it wasn't "their thing"! Puzzling. At any rate, I am glad to see that you are forging onward. You have well over 1000 of us who are glad to see your regular thoughts pop up on our blog lists!! Have a good week-end.

What a cool bag! And how nice of you to write her a letter. Now that you said it, I should write my purse a note or bring her a rose, I'm pretty rough on the ol' gal.

    🙂
