Quilted Heart Rug In The Snow

February 10, 2014 by Michele

Hi there.

How are you today? Well, I hope.

I, myself, am feelin’ pretty darn good.

I’ve been quilting, and singing, and playing in the snow. In Ontario, Canada, we have SO MUCH beautiful pristine white snow right now.  Today, it was calling to me to come out and play. So that’s just what I did…

It was a beautiful, sunny, crispy cool, day out. The kind of day that makes you breathe deeply and think clearly. The kind of day you thank the universe for.

Plus, it was the ideal chance to stop and take pics of my latest project, the little quilted heart rug. Just in time for Valentine’s Day, eh?

Wow! It's beautiful! It looks beautiful in the snow. Lately, my sister has been making a lot of quilts too.

Thanks Melissa! Making quilts is pretty addictive once you get going so I can understand your sister's enthusiasm. 🙂

A beautiful heart in the snow! We haven’t had any snow this Winter … yet!

Seriously! No snow there? We've had that sort of winter here before but this year we're getting piled on like crazy. I love it though!!!

Its smashing Michele, will you really use it as a rug for the floor?
I love that idea but mine would be covered in dog and cat hair within a day lol amazing how much hair can be shed from just two cats and one dog!
Striking setting it against the pristine snow like that too.

Oh yes, I certainly am using it as a floor rug! 🙂 I made it with scraps and several thicknesses of fabric so it's nice and sturdy and lays nice and flat. It will get dirty but it's very easy to throw in the washing machine.

Very pretty. I love the colors in this. And that heart just pop's on that!! I like that it is a rug.

      Thanks pennydog and Diane,

It's nice to make something other than a "quilt" quilt you know? Making a rug is a nice change. Plus it isn't very big. Perfect as a bath or door mat. 🙂

Aw thanks Karen! I had to photograph it in the snow. The snow is so lovely and fresh right now. Perfect as a backdrop, eh?

I love the little "heart rug" but I really stopped by to simply say thank you first for returning to this space and then for all the amazing content you have so generously shared here. And for being my "think outside the box" muse! Happy Valentine's Day!

Michele, glad to see you are still blogging and the rug is lovely. I just tried to add your blog back to my blog and – guess what? – Blogger still links to your costume post. I will send them a query because I want to follow you automatically. Boo.

Beautiful little rug Michele! And lucky you having gorgeous white snow to play around it. Much as I love living in the tropics and always being warm, I would like a sneaky white snow day now and again!! 🙂
