Milk It

August 31, 2010 by Michele

“Surely you know me.

I’m the one who said it could be done.
The one you come to,
Always come to,
Every single day.

Who picks you up.
And cools you off.
And sends you on your way.

Thank you very much,

Milk.”
Lyrics from a Canadian television milk advertisement jingle (circa 1980) that I’ve – for some cockamamy reason – committed to memory.
Tote made from a milk carton, tissue paper, bits of plastic, a used chopstick, a paper clip, an old dowel, and a length of lace.
Have a great great day!

What a super fun idea, and very creative upcycle! I really like how you lined the inside and how it even has a divided section.

Do you remember the old milk commercials where they stood in the mirror and their older reflection (always taller and better looking) would tell them how awesome they would be? Those were my favourite, In Living Color did a spoof ont hem too but I can't find either on YouTube. *pouts*

You've made the humble milk carton look classy. This could be cute with the little individual cartons or the larger ones, too. I wonder what type of glue you used on the waxed surface. Thank you for sharing your charming project. Cherry Kay

This carton is beautiful, Ir reminds me of making batches of chocolate chip biscuits for charity to sell and would make gift boxes for the biscuits out of recycled milk containers with pretty fabric or paper on top. Thanks for sharing. It inspires me to make some more again….
